Chelle: Where were you born/raised?
Angel: In the heart of the Canadian Rockies - Banff, Alberta.
Chelle: How many different cities have you lived in?
Angel: Three. Banff, Victoria and Edmonton. Soon to add Regina.
Chelle: Do you have any brothers/sisters?
Angel: I had three brothers growing up until the eldest died when I was 15. I also have a 1/2 sister that I learned about in my early 20's.
Chelle: Tell me more about that...
Angel: When my Dad was 17, he knocked up his 15 year old girlfriend and she was sent away to have the baby. My Dad wanted the baby, and so did his mother, but in those days birth dads had no say, and they were turned down in their request to adopt the baby. It was my Mom's shoulder that my Dad cried on at that time, and they ended up eventually getting married, with the understanding that if they ever had a daughter, Dad got to name her. They had 3 boys before I finally came along, and that is how I came to be named Angel. Dad told me about Sandy when I was in my early 20's, and she found him (us) a couple of years before Dad died. The day he met her face to face was the happiest I had EVER seen my Dad n my life. Sandy and I bonded a lot when Dad died, and now that I'm moving to the same city as her, I'm looking forward to getting to know her, my niece and nephews, and my great-nephew even more!
Chelle: What is your earliest memory?
Angel: Probably of my 2nd oldest brother teasing me in my high chair, and watching "Hockey Night in Canada".
Chelle: When did you first get into music?
Angel: Both my parents were musicians, so I imagine I probably got into music in the womb.
Chelle: Do you play any instruments?
Angel: No
Chelle: Did you play any instruments as a child that you don't play any more?
Angel: Yes, guitar and piano
Chelle: 1st concert you ever attended?
Angel: Downchild Blues Band
Chelle: When would you say you became a VH fan? What turned you on to VH?
Angel: Late 1978, I loved them as soon as I heard the first album. Once I saw Dave & Eddie together live, I was in rock n' roll heaven.
Chelle: How long have you been involved with the online VH community? Have you always had the same username?
Angel: I used to lurk at the Army and the old slawterhouse sites. I got active at DDLR when Dave last came to Edmonton in '03. My username is pretty boring, it's my actual name. I was never able to buy anything with my name on it, so I guess I make up for that now.
Chelle: Ever posted under an alias?
Angel: Yeah, youllneverknow. There's another that I never posted under: RavenII
Chelle: What is your opinion of the current state of VH?
Angel: What state? Is Eddie still alive? (Does that answer your question?)
Chelle: Actually, yeah it does. LOL. Have you met any of the VH band members?
Angel: No, but Dave has spoken to me from stage, and Eddie has kissed my hand.
Chelle: I think that counts. Met any other celebrities?
Angel: I presented flowers to Wallace Simpson and the Former King of England when I was about 4 years old. I also worked for a Jazz Society and met TONS of blues and jazz artists: Maceo Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D'Rivera, Slide Hampton, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Charlie Musslewhite, etc...
Chelle: What did you always want to be when you grew up?
Angel: An Actress
Chelle: What did you actually end up doing for a living?
Angel: Administrative Bullshit, however I am moving to a new city so that I can pursue my acting.
Chelle: Are you married/involved? Any kids?
Angel: I'm separated, in the process of divorce. NOT involved with anyone, and have no desire to be. I have one son, age 22.
Chelle: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Angel: I've been in training for roller derby since March. These days, my spare time is spent trying to win tickets to Oilers hockey games! I skate in the winter, and bike a lot in the summer. And now that I'm single, I go out dancing a lot.
Chelle: What is your favorite movie of all time, and why?
Angel: I don't know if I really have a favourite. There are a lot that I like, a lot I don't.
Chelle: What is the absolute worst movie you've ever seen?
Angel: The very first porn movie I ever saw! It was in the 70's, and they were pretty nasty then!
Chelle: What character from a movie most reminds you of yourself?
Angel: I don't think a movie has come out yet that has a character like me. ;)
Chelle: What is your comfort food?
Angel: CHOCOLATE!
Chelle: Finish this statement: If I won a million dollars I'd...
Angel: Pay off my best friends house, buy a house for myself, buy a house for my son, and give some money to my Mom. Anything left would be invested.
Chelle: What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
Angel: The only thing I can think of is my age. People always seem surprised when they hear I'm 43.
Chelle: What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
Angel: It would have to be giving a couple of roadies blow jobs in an attempt to get backstage tickets on the WACF tour.
Chelle: Did it work?
Angel: Hell no! I was naive, didn't know the difference between local stage hands and real roadies.
Chelle: Wow, that sucks (no pun intended) LOL Do you get along better with the same or opposite sex?
Angel: I get along well with both.
Chelle: Are you allergic to anything?
Angel: Cats.
Chelle: How much cash do you have on you right now?
Angel: Probably only about $25. I hardly ever have cash, debit is my way.
Chelle: Who was the last person to piss you off?
Angel: My ex-husband.
Chelle: Your posting style has changed a lot recently, you don't seem as angry or crazy as you used to be. Is there a story behind this?
Angel: I've been working on my own personal growth over the last few months, and things are finally coming together.
Many in the Roth world attacked me viciously when I came out. They passed judgment and automatically assumed that I had been cheating on my husband and that I was abandoning him in his time of need because he has a chronic illness.
This isn't so whatsoever. My reasons for leaving were that I had realized that I was powerless over his alcoholism and my life had become unmanageable. Yes, because of some hurtful things that he said to me in December, I also realized that I couldn't live a lie anymore, so I came out on the net world, and to my closest friends.
As a result of having lived with alcoholics my entire life, I had my own issues that had to be dealt with. I now realize that the times when I didn't have any crisis going on in my life, I would make posts that would create a crisis, as it was what I was accustomed to. I've also learned that those moments when I was attacking people viciously it was because I was in pain. And when people are hurting, they have a tendency to want to hurt others.
For those of you whom I have attacked, I apologize profusely. For those who have attacked me, I forgive you, and I hope you can resolve whatever issues in your life are hurting you so deeply.
So folks, the next time someone lashes out at you, remember they're only doing it because something is hurting them. And above all, remember we're all human and we have no right to pass judgment on others, especially when we don't know all the facts.
Kisses to all,
Angel
